So you want to make a film?  So you want it to make money?  I salute you!  Of course, the goal is to make the best possible film for the least possible amount of money.  That way you have more money to spend on marketing the film.  That could mean anything from more money for film festival entrance fees to giant billboards in Times Square.  Depends on your budget, right?  So...how do you do it?

Lionsgate cuts 8% of staff

Lionsgate are looking to save around $20 million a year by cutting 8% of their staff and they are cutting back on the amount of films they produce each year in a bid to save money – Dave McNary of Variety.com reports;

Back in 1996, one of most underrated and influenced American TV shows had its three season run. Shortly after 'The X-Files' changed the paranormal elements of intelligent TV drama, FOX networks approached creator Chris Carter about the prospects of developing another hit series. By emphasising on the, back then, rising interest of the new millennium, Carter created ‘Millennium’, a rather sinful and mysterious approach of the coming thousand-year mark combined with what he explained as “an exploration of evil”.
