St Georges Day is approaching quickly, this year it will be marked by a special event according to the Michael Corley of the Coventry Telegraph;
PATRIOTS are being urged to ring in St George’s Day with a bell during a day of music and street theatre in Coventry.
The event will begin with Punch and Judy shows, and local folk band Four In a Bar, who’ll perform their quintessentially English blend of music with dancing.
All those planning to attend are urged to bring a bell.
The music and mayhem will be followed by a pitched battle between the Knights and the Dragon Heads.
Swords will cross, a maiden will be kidnapped, and a cyber battle will ensue.
The council’s deputy leader, councillor Kevin Foster, said: “This year’s event will be very different from those in the past and is aimed to be a memorable celebration of our patron saints day.
“The event is called ‘Our Bit of England’ and as well as the traditional dragon-slaying, we will also be celebrating the rich diversity of Coventry today. So bring all the family and a bell to join in the fun.”
