Click on Private Messages underneath the 'Mailbox' section on the home page; this will then take you to your inbox. You then have the option to compose a message, click on this selection. Then simply fill in the address of the user you wish to message in the 'To' section; fill out your message in the 'Message' box; and click 'send'.
Your message will then automatically be in your 'Outbox' if you need to refer to it.
Alternatively, log on to your profile page, highlight 'Connections' and click on Manage Your Connections; your list of connections will then appear. Scroll down to the one that you want and click on the envelope symbol underneath their profile picture. This will then lead you to a page already set up to send a message to that user, so all you need to do is fill in the 'Subject', your message, copy the security code and 'send'.
